If your father’s name is recorded incorrectly on your Aadhaar card—whether due to a spelling error or for any other reason—and you wish to update it to the correct name, the process has now become quite simple thanks to the ‘Head of Family’ (HOF) facility.
The Head of Family (HOF) facility introduced by UIDAI is extremely useful for individuals who do not possess sufficient documentation to verify their details but wish to update their information based on the Aadhaar details of the head of their family.
Prosses to Change Aadhaar Card Father Name and Address Online with HOF
Step 1:- First, visit the official website by clicking on the link provided above.
Step 2:- After visiting the official website, you will see a ‘Login’ button; click on it, enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code, and log in using the OTP.
Step 3:- As soon as you log in, you will see an option to ‘Update your address’; simply click on it. Addresschange request
Step 4:- As soon as you click on ‘Update Address’, you will see two options; from these, you need to click on the ‘Using family member’s Aadhaar’ option.
Step 5:- A new page will now open where you need to enter your father’s Aadhaar number, specify the relationship type, and click ‘Next’.
Step 6:- A new page will now open where you need to make an online payment of ₹75; you can easily make this payment via UPI.
Step 7:- As soon as the payment of Rs 75 is completed, an SRN number will be generated on your screen; you should note this number down somewhere.
Step 8:- Now, you need to visit the official UIDAI website again and log in using your father’s Aadhaar card details by entering his Aadhaar number and the CAPTCHA code.
Step 9:- After logging in using your father’s Aadhaar card, you will see an option labeled “Family Members Request” on your screen; you need to click on it.
Step 10:- A new page will now open where you need to enter the SRN number you received; simply enter that number and accept it.
Step 11:- Once you accept, the entire process will be completed; within 3 to 4 days, your father’s name on your Aadhaar card will be updated to match exactly what appears on his Aadhaar card.

Before submitting your request, keep these points in mind:
- HoF-based updating is primarily an address update facility.
- Your HoF should meet UIDAI’s eligibility requirements.
- The address used through the HoF process is based on the HoF’s Aadhaar address.
- The HoF needs to provide the required consent/approval.
- Father’s name is not a separate Aadhaar demographic field.
- Father’s name can be included in the C/o field as part of the address.
- Keep your SRN/acknowledgement number after submitting the request.
