A ration card is an important government document used by eligible households to access subsidized food grains and other benefits under the Public Distribution System (PDS). If you already have a ration card, you may be able to check and download your ration card online without visiting a government office.
The online process can be different from one state to another because ration card services are managed through the respective State/UT Food Department and PDS portals. The National Food Security Act (NFSA) portal provides a list of official state and Union Territory ration card portals.
Prosses to Download Ration Card Online
Step 1:- First, visit the official portal by clicking on the link provided above.
Step 2:- Then, the names of all the states will appear on your screen, from which you need to select your state.
Step 3:- Then, a new page will open where you need to select your district.
Step 4:- A new page will now open where you need to select either the ‘RURAL’ or ‘URBAN’ option; choose ‘RURAL’ if you live in a rural area, or ‘URBAN’ if you live in a city.
Step 5:- Then, a new page will open on your screen where you need to select your block, panchayat, and village.
Step 6:- The complete ration card list will now open on your screen; click on your name in the list. Upon clicking, your ration card—complete with your photograph—will open, and you can download it by clicking on it.
Ration Card Download in Other States
The same general process applies to other States and Union Territories, but the website, search method and download option can differ.
For the correct portal, use the official NFSA State/UT portal list rather than relying on an unknown third-party website.
Ration Card and One Nation One Ration Card
The One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) system allows eligible NFSA beneficiaries to access their food-grain entitlements from Fair Price Shops across the country using their existing ration card, subject to the applicable system and authentication requirements.
This is particularly useful for beneficiaries who move from one state to another for work or other reasons.
