New Delhi, October 10, 2026: Domestic LPG consumers in India should check whether they have completed Aadhaar-based Biometric Authentication (BAA) to continue booking subsidised LPG cylinder refills. According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the requirement came into effect on October 1, 2026.
The government said that 27.43 crore LPG consumers had already completed the authentication as of September 19, 2026. These consumers do not need to repeat the process.
How to Complete LPG Gas e-KYC Online
Consumers can complete Aadhaar biometric authentication through their LPG company’s official mobile application or by visiting their distributor.
Follow these steps for online face-based authentication:
- Visit the official PM Ujjwala Yojana e-KYC page.
- Download the official mobile app for your LPG provider.
- Install the Aadhaar FaceRD app, as instructed on the official portal.
- Open the LPG company’s app and follow the self e-KYC instructions.
- Complete the face authentication process and follow the on-screen confirmation.
The available apps include IndianOil ONE for Indane customers, HelloBPCL for Bharatgas customers and HP PAY for HP Gas customers.
Other Ways to Complete LPG Aadhaar e-KYC
If you cannot complete the process online, you can request authentication during cylinder delivery or visit your LPG distributor’s showroom. The process is available through these official channels.
What Happens If You Have Not Completed e-KYC?
According to the government’s announcement, consumers who have not completed biometric authentication can book subsidised refills once the authentication is completed. The government has also clarified that the process is not intended to deny LPG to genuine households.
Consumers who are unwilling or unable to complete biometric authentication can register their choice through the available channels of their oil marketing company.
Important Information for LPG Consumers
LPG Aadhaar biometric authentication is different from simply linking Aadhaar to a gas connection. Consumers should check their authentication status with their LPG provider rather than assuming that Aadhaar linking means the process is complete.
