PM Ujjwala Yojana 2026: Eligibility, Required Documents and How to Apply

New Delhi, October 11, 2026: Women from eligible poor households can apply for a deposit-free LPG connection under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), a government scheme aimed at improving access to clean cooking fuel. The official PMUY portal reported that more than 10.56 crore connections had been released as of September 23, 2026.

Under PMUY 2.0, eligible beneficiaries receive an LPG connection without paying the prescribed security deposit. The scheme also provides the first LPG refill and a stove (hotplate) free of cost, subject to the scheme’s applicable conditions.

Who Is Eligible for PM Ujjwala Yojana 2026?

Applicants must meet the following basic conditions:

  • The applicant must be a woman aged 18 years or above.
  • She must belong to an eligible poor household and submit the prescribed deprivation declaration.
  • No other LPG connection should exist in the same household under the scheme’s eligibility rules.
  • The applicant must provide the required identity, family and bank details.

Eligibility is assessed under the current scheme guidelines, so meeting the basic conditions does not automatically guarantee approval.
